Krzysztof Skwierczyński (b. 1971)
Secretary and member of the editorial team of Przegląd Historyczny since 1997, deputy editor since 2013, editor-in-chief in 2019–2021.
Historian, medievalist. His research interests focus on the social history of the Middle Ages, history of the medieval Church and sexuality in the Middle Ages. He also studies the influence of the Christian West on Polish culture in the early Piast period.
He completed his studies at the Institute of History, University of Warsaw, in 1995, writing a thesis, under Professor Roman Michałowski’s supervision, on the religious topography of cities in the Middle Ages. In 2004 he defended his doctoral thesis on the Gregorian Reform in Poland (supervisor: Professor Roman Michałowski) and in 2012 obtained his habilitation degree on the basis of the book Mury Sodomy. Piotra Damianiego Księga Gomory i walka z sodomią wśród kleru. In 1996–2020 he worked at the Institute of History, University of Warsaw, from 2004 as assistant professor, from 2019 as University of Warsaw professor. Since 2020 he has been working at the Institute of Art History, Faculty of Culture and Arts, University of Warsaw (Department of Culture History).
From 2012 to 2016 deputy director for student affairs of the Institute of History, University of Warsaw; from 2016 to 2020, Deputy Dean for student and doctoral affairs at the Faculty of History, University of Warsaw. Since 2020 Deputy Dean for student affairs of the Faculty of Culture and Arts, University of Warsaw.
In 1999–2007 member of the editorial board of Repertorium Fontium Historiae Medii Aevi (Rome).
Since 2015 member of the Editorial Board of the journal Memoria Europae (Argentine, Università di San Juan de la Frontera).
