Editorial Code of Ethics
The editors of Przegląd Historyczny (hereinafter: PH) observe the highest ethical standards, formulated by the Committee on Publication Ethics COPE, see: https://publicationethics.org/
The PH editors follow these standards in their work. The standards should also be followed by the Polish and foreign authors submitting texts for publication in the journal.
As one of the two oldest historical journals in Poland, PH strives to publish articles of the highest possible scholarly merit, articles that make an important contribution to the development of historical sciences.
All articles submitted to the editorial team are subject to external reviews (double-blind peer review). The submissions are sent as anonymous submissions to two reviewers, designated by the editors, who do not have any conflict of interest with the authors. PH reviewers are outstanding specialists in the field to which a submission relates.
The editors and the reviewers are obliged not to pass the submissions, as well as their oral and written opinions about them, outside the PH editorial team.
Each author is obliged to sign a standard agreement in which they declare in § 1(2) that they “will write the work personally without infringing on the copyright of third parties”.
So far the editors have not received a submission that subsequently proved to be plagiarism. If plagiarism is detected by means of relevant electronic tools, the submission in question will be sent back, with attached documentation of the result of the anti-plagiarism assessment, to the institution with which the author of the plagiarism is affiliated, and the relevant law enforcement authorities will be notified.
